Every Ford pickup, ranked on work score.
Ford's work-truck lineup, ranked by what actually helps you finish the day.
The F-Series has been America's work truck long enough that the fleet spec practically has its own culture — and Ford leans into it. XL trim, vinyl floors, the 7.3L gas V8 that fleet managers order by the dozen because it's cheap to feed and cheaper to fix. Then the chassis-cab side of the house: F-350 through F-550 incomplete trucks born for whatever your trade bolts on, which is why they crowd the top of my work rankings.
Two things worth checking on any Ford work listing: the upfitter switch count — Ford wires up to six from the factory, real circuits, not splices — and the payload package, which raises the certified payload printed on the door-jamb sticker, often by several hundred pounds, more than any trim choice will. Pro Power Onboard turns the bed into a job-site outlet panel, and yes, I count it.
Walk past if your work is light and occasional — the fleet-grade depth here is capability you'd be paying to park. The half-ton boards and my Comfort pages cover the truck that works weekends and commutes weekdays.

A work truck earns its score doing the job — payload and hardware, not chrome.
A work truck earns its score with payload, weight ratings, upfits, and HD hardware — what it hauls, what it pulls, and what it costs you per pound of capability. I don't hand out points for luxury a job site will destroy, and 4x4 only counts when the work actually calls for it. The best work score usually belongs to the plainest truck on the lot. That's not a flaw. That's the point.
